Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser/Chief Coach Gernot Rohr is confident that Eagles’ left back Jamilu Collins would still remain in German Bundesliga 1 despite the player’s club SC Paderborn’s relegation on Tuesday.
Collins’ club who got promotion from the Bundesliga 2 to the elite league in Germany last season were relegated on Tuesday when the club lost 1-0 to Union Berlin despite two rounds of matches left to end the season in Germany.
Collins played 28 matches for Paderborn and scored a goal to ranked among the best players in the squad.
But the Eagles handler has seen enough from his defender to know that he stands a very good chance of getting another elite club in Germany that would engage his services for next season.
“I am very happy that football is starting again in Europe. We have watched the Bundesliga for some weeks now and we could see that Collins is playing all the games even if his club has gone down. Jamilu has done very well so far in the Bundesliga and he will certainly have opportunities to stay in the first Bundesliga next season with another club”, Rohr told SPORTINGLIFE.
