Captain of the Olympic Eagles Azubuike Okechukwu has vowed to lead his side to a comprehensive victory against Libya in today’s match holding at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State to qualify for the final round of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Caycur Rizespor combative midfielder said that they had discovered their mistakes in the first match that they lost 2-0 and have worked hard in the training sessions in Asaba to correct them.
“I think we have to play more compact against the Libyans in tomorrow’s (today’s) match. We concentrate too because that was our problems in the first leg against Libya in Tunisia. Then we have to attack more, create more chances and we will win the game comprehensively”, Azubuike as he is fondly called assured.
He also believed the team has prepared more and better than the first match ad added that the midfield of the team would need to work more to be able to knit the defence and attack together which they have now perfected in the training sessions they had since returning to Abuja from Tunisia.
“We are doing our best and hopefully we will do better tomorrow (today). We will work hard on the pitch to score three or more goals to qualify for the next round of the qualifiers by God’s grace”, Azubuike assured.
