Pay our Libya, South Africa outstanding bonuses
Some of the Super Eagles stars that qualified Nigeria for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations have threatened to boycott subsequent matches if their outstanding winning bonus away to Libya and Saturday’s 1-1 draw also away to South Africa are not paid.
NationSport got it on good authority from some of the players that they had to honour the South Africa match because of their love for their fatherland, Nigeria and their great respect for the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin Pinnick.
An respected member of the team who spoke to NationSport in condition of anonymity disclosed, “we are not happy at all that the winning bonus for Libya match in Algeria has not been paid. Yesterday’s (Saturday’s) match has joined it now making it two outstanding.
“In as much as we love our nation dearly at least we supposed to get what is due to us since we have played our own part well and got qualification. We respect our President Amaju Pinnick that’s why we agreed to play against South Africa and we know that he has been running up and down to get funds to pay us. This is the time the Federal Government should come to our rescue and make us happy at least we are representing the country. This kind of treatment is not fair to us at all “, the player who was emotional while talking to NationSport disclosed.
