Rohr, NFF unaware of FIFA clearance for Lookman Ademola, Adarabioyo, others

Super Eagles’Technical Adviser/Chief Coach Gernot Rohr has denied knowledge of the news going round in the media that world football governing body FIFA has cleared eight players born abroad to play for Nigeria, reports.

The Coach who was surprised about the news simply describes it as Fake news.

The report stated that FIFA, the international governing body of association football, has cleared eight new players for the Super Eagles.

Fulham’s forward Ademola Lookman is on top of the list.

Others on the list include: Jordan Torunarigha Hertha BSC, Nathan Tella Southampton FC, Tosin Adarabioyo Fulham FC, Ovie Ejaria Reading FC, Noni Madueke of PSV Sheyi Ojo Cardiff City and Ike Ugbo Cercle Brugge.

But Rohr told SPORTINGLIFE, “Very funny. I have received so many calls about this fake news.”

The General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation Muhammed Sanusi also denied knowledge of the FIFA clearance of the 8 players to play for Nigeria.

“I don’t want to say anything on this issue because I have not received any official letter from FIFA as regards this issue. I have not seen the list and I urge people to disregard it until we officially receive a letter to that effect from FIFA”, Sanusi disclosed this to SPORTINGLIFE.
