Super Eagles’ Chief Coach/Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr is very eager to see all his regular players playing consistently for they clubs to be in good shape for the March 22nd Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifier against Benin Republic slated for Cotonou, www.adantesports.com.ng reports.
The Eagles’ gaffer is more concerned about his striker Victor Osimhen who has just recovered from shoulder’s dislocation in Eagles’s AFCON 2022 qualifier that ended in 4-4 score draw against Sierra Leone in Benin City last year.
Rohr is convinced that if all his regulars are back to the pitch playing regularly for their respective clubs it would help in picking a strong team that could get victory against Benin Republic.
The Eagles handler also expressed happiness with the performance of his players for their clubs and disclosed that he and his assistants have been monitoring their progress in their respective clubs in Europe.
“We have to watch and scout a lot until March next year and I hope to get back our injured players like Osimhen, Kalu and others. This is very important for our preparations for the very important AFCON qualifier that we have in March.
“I am also very happy with the performance of our players with their clubs in Europe. We are watching them and taking notes as regards how they are fairing. All these would help us to invite the best legs for the AFCON qualifier against Benin Republic”, Rohr told Nigeria’s top sports newspaper SPORTINGLIFE.
