Super Eagles handler Gernot Rohr has prayed for good health for his players, assistants and backroom staff in year 2021, www.adantesports.com.ng reports.
In his message for the coming year Rohr also wishes that the renovation of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium is completed on time to enable the Super Eagles start playing in Abuja.
He also expressed determination and commitment to do everything humanly possible for his team to qualify for both the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 World Cup.
He the hieve a sigh of relief that the Nigeria Professional Football League has finally started on Sunday which he watched on his television in Germany on Sunday.
“For the new year we hope that all our players, coaches and officials can start in good health and the unity we need with the sports ministry will bring our football further.
“We hope to get good infrastructures to play in Abuja with our fans in the stadium.
“2021 should also be the year of qualification for AFCON and a good start of World Cup qualifiers.
“Our offensive football with young players will continue and results will follow.
“The scouting of new players continues but they must be better than the boys we have already.
Happy new year to all Nigerians”, Rohr disclosed.
“As regards the start of the NPFL, I saw an interesting game on Sunday and I am very happy that the NFPL is starting again after a long interruption.
“The players need time to get the rhythm but I could see that most of them are physically well prepared.
