Eagles versus Algeria, Tunisia: Rohr blames no football league actions for Nigerian players’ blackout

Super Eagles’ Manager Gernot Rohr has blamed lack of league’s resumption in Nigeria for his none inclusion of Nigerian players in his 26-Man list of Super Eagles team that would confront Algeria and Tunisia in Friday’s and next week Tuesday’s friendlies, www.adantesports.com.ng reports.

He said that there was no basis for their inclusion in his list because they wouldn’t have been physically fit and ready for the games.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t take any player from Nigeria now because they (Nigeria professional football league players) did not play since March (because of Coronavirus). So it wasn’t possible for them to come in”, Rohr disclosed in a virtual press briefing which he did from Eagles Camp in Austria on Thursday.

He, however promised to lead his team to victories to prepare well for the all important Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) double header qualifiers against Sierra Leone slated for next month.
