President Buhari motivates Super Eagles, Super Falcons

 

 

 

 

 

His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) has taken time to speak with players of the Super Eagles and Super Falcons ahead of important matches on Saturday.

The President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic reached out to the camps of the two teams via video call through the President of Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick.

Pinnick told thenff.com that President Buhari charged the players of the Super Eagles to give their very best in their match against Burundi in their opening match of the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations, with the match taking place in Alexandria Stadium from 6pm Nigeria time. He assured them that the government and people of Nigeria are behind them in their quest for honours and that football is a big factor unifying all the peoples of Nigeria across mental and physical boundaries.

Team captain Mikel John Obi assured President Buhari that the players have trained very hard and are presently in the right spirit to give their all to bring glory to Nigeria in Egypt.

President Buhari also spoke to the Super Falcons, who were about taking on Germany same day in Grenoble in the Round of 16 of the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in France.
